Hearby

ACCEPTABLE USE · THE LINE

Where the line
actually is.

Hearby is a soft-named tool with a sharp product. Most people will use it for the conversations it’s built for — the awkward silences, the half-remembered names, the prep you didn’t do. This page is for the rest. Here’s what we won’t tolerate, and what we’ll do about it.

CONSENT

Two-party means two-party

Ten US states require everyone’s consent before a recording. The geofence isn’t a suggestion. Bypassing it is grounds for termination.

HARM

No stalking · no fraud

Hearby is for conversations you’re in, with people you’re talking to. It’s not a surveillance device. It’s not an impersonation engine.

DECISIONS

Not for hiring or housing

Don’t use a Whisper to decide who gets a job, a loan, an apartment, or a benefit. The FCRA and its cousins are bright lines.
